Camping Mat Warehouse recycled polypropylene mats are designed for Australian outdoor adventures. With proper care, cleaning, folding and storage, your mat will continue to provide comfort and convenience wherever you travel.
Please read these instructions before using your mat.
Before Using Your Mat
1. Inspect Your Mat
When you receive your mat, we recommend unfolding it and checking its overall condition, including the woven material, binding, stitching and eyelets.
If you notice any damage or potential manufacturing defects, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Using your mat does not remove your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
2. Condition Your Mat
New mats may initially feel firm or stiff due to the recycled polypropylene weave.
Before your first camping trip:
- Lay your mat flat in the sun for a short period.
- Hose it down with clean water.
- Allow it to dry naturally.
This helps the mat begin to soften and settle.
With regular use, the weave will become more flexible, allowing water, sand and dirt to pass through more easily.
3. Prepare the Ground
Before laying your mat, check the ground for sharp objects such as rocks, sticks, exposed tree roots or other debris.
Remove anything that may puncture, cut or damage the woven material.

4. Avoid Excessive Tension
Lay your mat naturally on the ground without pulling it excessively tight.
If the mat needs to flatten, allow it to settle naturally or walk gently across it.
Excessive stretching or pulling can damage the weave, binding and eyelets.
5. Protect Your Mat From Furniture Damage
Always lift furniture rather than dragging it across your mat.
Dragging chairs, tables or other heavy objects can catch and pull the woven fibres, potentially damaging the surface.
Furniture may leave temporary indentations, particularly when the mat is placed over softer ground. These generally reduce over time.
6. Take Care When Securing Eyelets
Our mats feature stainless steel eyelets designed to assist with securing your mat to the ground.
To prevent damage:
- Avoid pulling directly on the eyelets.
- Do not use the mat to remove pegs or ground screws.
- Avoid overtightening screws through the eyelets.
- Do not overstretch the mat when securing it.
Damage caused by excessive force or incorrect installation is not covered by our voluntary manufacturer's warranty.
Folding & Storage
7. Always Follow the Natural Fold Lines
Correct folding is one of the most important ways to protect your camping mat.
Our mats feature natural memory fold lines running along the length of the mat.
Depending on the size, your mat may have one or two fold lines, forming a peak or valley.
Always follow the direction of these fold lines when packing your mat away.
Forcing the mat against its natural folds can damage the woven material or create unnecessary stress on the binding.
Damage caused by incorrect folding is excluded from our voluntary manufacturer's warranty. This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

8. Store Your Mat Correctly
Before storing your mat:
- Make sure it is clean and completely dry.
- Fold it along its natural memory fold lines.
- Store it in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid unnecessary prolonged sunlight exposure while in storage.
- Use the supplied carry bag or a suitable cover to protect it during transport.
Avoid storing heavy or sharp objects directly against your mat.
Cleaning Your Mat
9. Regular Cleaning
Our camping mats are designed to be easy to clean.
For everyday dirt, sand and dust:
- Shake or brush away loose debris.
- Hose the mat with clean water.
- Use mild soapy water and a soft brush or cloth for stubborn marks.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow the mat to dry completely before folding or storing.
10. Pressure Washing
A pressure washer may be used carefully on a low-pressure, wide fan setting.
Avoid directing a concentrated high-pressure jet at the weave, stitching, binding or eyelets.
Damage caused by excessive water pressure is excluded from our voluntary manufacturer's warranty.
11. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Do not use bleach, strong solvents or harsh cleaning chemicals.
These products may damage the recycled polypropylene material or its UV-stabilising properties.
Use mild cleaning products suitable for outdoor woven polypropylene surfaces.
Protecting Your Mat
12. Keep Away From Heat & Flames
Our mats are made from recycled polypropylene plastic, which can melt when exposed to excessive heat.
Keep the mat away from:
- Open flames and campfires.
- Hot coals and embers.
- Cigarettes and mosquito coils.
- Hot cookware and cooking appliances.
- Other high-temperature objects.
Heat damage is excluded from our voluntary manufacturer's warranty.
13. Loose Threads & Natural Weave Variations
Our mats are woven products and may occasionally have small loose threads, short threads or minor weave variations.
These are not necessarily manufacturing defects and generally do not affect the mat's performance.
Small loose thread ends may be carefully trimmed or tucked back into the weave.
Do not pull loose threads, as this may cause additional damage.
Where a weave variation affects the mat's acceptable quality, durability or performance, it will be assessed in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Your Camping Mat Warranty
30-Day Standard Warranty — No Registration Required
All Camping Mat Warehouse recycled polypropylene camping mats include a 30-day voluntary manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects.
3-Year Extended Warranty — Registration Required
Eligible recycled polypropylene camping mats measuring at least 1.8 m × 1.8 m qualify for our extended 3-year voluntary manufacturer's warranty when registered within 30 days of purchase.
The extended warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects in the recycled polypropylene woven material and is not subject to pro-rata reductions.
Binding, Stitching & Eyelets
Manufacturing defects in these components are covered under our standard voluntary warranty.
Once a mat has been used, damage to binding, stitching or eyelets resulting from use, installation, pulling, folding, abrasion or other external forces is excluded from our voluntary manufacturer's warranty.
Genuine manufacturing defects that become apparent after use will still be assessed in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Your Consumer Rights
Our voluntary warranty exclusions do not remove or restrict your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
A product may still qualify for a statutory remedy where it fails to meet a consumer guarantee, regardless of whether it has been used, registered or is outside the voluntary warranty period.
Register Your Mat
Register your eligible mat within 30 days of purchase to activate your extended 3-year voluntary manufacturer's warranty.

Regular Cleaning:
Periodically clean your mat to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use a mild soap or detergent and gently scrub with a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before storing. Our mats are easy to clean. You can use a pressure washer on “fan” to get rid of stubborn marks. Make sure you let it dry completely before folding and packing away.
