Why Choose Us

All about mats….Why choose us?

With so many mat types and brands on the market, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. Over the years, we’ve heard it all from our customers — mats that are too heavy, too hot, hard to fold, difficult to clean, and even ones that just aren’t pretty! While recycled mats are becoming increasingly popular, it’s important to remember: not all mats are created equal.

From rubber matting and shade cloth to synthetic grass and various recycled mat brands, we’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. And much of what we know comes directly from our customers and their real-life experiences.

See how they are made

Rubber matting

These mats are among the most popular options, mainly because they’re inexpensive and widely available at caravan stores and hardware shops. However, based on what we've seen, they come with some major downsides.

They’re more than three times heavier than recycled poly mats, making them harder to handle and transport. Made from rubber, these mats smother the grass beneath them, cutting off moisture and trapping heat—both of which can damage or kill grass roots over time. They’re also not ideal in areas with cat’s eyes (large bindi's), as they can be difficult to clean. After just one trip inland, many travellers end up tossing their mat out out altogether.

Shade Cloth

Yes, shade cloth mats are breathable and allow dirt and sand to fall through — but with their wide weave, that dirt and dust often comes right back up. Several brands use a two-layer cloth design, which can seem like a great idea… until it gets wet. Then they become slippery, and with some large mats requiring up to 48 eyelets to peg down, setup becomes more of a chore than it should be.

We’ve had customers share their experiences — one mentioned that the bindings on their popular two-layer mat had shrunk, making the mat loose and uneven when pegged down. Another described it as “like walking on ice” when wet. One customer even tossed their mat after their partner slipped and fell.

That’s exactly why they switched to our recycled mat — lighter, safer, and a whole lot easier to manage.

Fake Grass

Hot and heavy — two words that describe fake grass all too well. If you’ve ever stepped onto artificial turf that’s been baking in the sun, you’ll know exactly what we mean: hot feet! Weight is also a big concern for caravanners and motorhomers, and fake grass is surprisingly heavy. Plus, it doesn’t breathe, which means it can trap heat and moisture, leading to damaged grass underneath.

Other brands of recycled mats

There are plenty of recycled mats out there, and while they may look similar at first glance, the differences quickly start to show. Some come with a warranty — others don’t. Some aren’t UV-stabilised. Many lack proper bindings and are simply folded and stitched, making them prone to unraveling. Others have no eyelets, just tags for pegging down — or worse, nothing at all. Most don’t include a carry bag, and many are made with a thinner weave. Some even have a glued centre fold that eventually splits.

Do your research — because when it comes to mats, you really do get what you pay for. Not sure what to look for? Reach out to us — we’re happy to help you compare the differences between brands.

After hearing so many stories from fellow travellers, we knew we had to do things differently. That’s why our mats are made from premium-quality materials: lightweight, durable, UV-stabilised, and resistant to mould and mildew. We’ve seen mats from other brands with bindings that fall off, eyelets that pop out, and bags that trap smells. Ours are designed to withstand it all — perfectly suited for the Aussie outdoors and the everyday camper.

Sick of the same old camping mats?
We hear you — and we’ve made some serious upgrades. Our all-new designs have just landed, featuring improved quality across the board: stronger bindings, reinforced eyelets, thicker weave, and a breathable storage bag that actually works.

We’ve been supplying recycled poly camping mats for years, and thanks to your feedback, we’ve taken things up a notch. Every mat is now UV-stabilised to prevent fading, built with heavy-duty polyester bindings that are double-stitched for long-term durability, and fitted with sturdy eyelets for secure setup. Plus, our mats are thicker than any other camping mat on the market — making them incredibly tough, yet still lightweight and easy to handle.

Each mat also comes with a deluxe storage bag designed with function in mind. It’s breathable to prevent musty smells, made from durable fabric, and has Velcro straps to keep everything secure. It protects your mat in storage and contains any moisture or dirt when you have to pack up wet.

Our designs are inspired by what real campers — like you — have asked for. And there’s more to come! If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, get in touch — we’d love to hear your ideas.

We offer a full replacement warranty within 12 months of purchase of our camping mats provided the mat has been used correctly and within our warranty guidelines.  Please see warranty details for more information.  Warranty valid on registered purchases so make sure you register your purchase within 7 days to activate your warranty.
